About Mrs. Melissa
Melissa Kathleen
Zaleski is the Owner and Artistic Director of Melissa Kathleen’s School
of Dance. Melissa began studying dance in 1973 at the age of two in
Jacksonville, Florida at the Virginia Dell School of Dance. In 1991,
she qualified and became a member of Dance Masters of America, an
international organization of teachers certified to teach by test.
Melissa is also a certified examiner in the subjects of ballet, tap,
jazz and acrobatics. She continues her own dance education through a
variety of conventions and workshops. Melissa became a member of
Carolina Dance Masters in 1998 and is currently serving on their Board
of Directors. A lifelong passion for sharing the art of dance led
Melissa to open Melissa Kathleen’s School of Dance in 1998. Since then
she has enjoyed teaching many wonderful young people and adults in
Albemarle. Mrs. Melissa proudly teaches every class offered at Melissa
Kathleen’s School of Dance!
Mrs. Melissa has been married since 1992 to D.J. Zaleski and they have two children, Abby and Zach, all of whom participate in the studio.
